Our client was helping her father move into an assisted living home and needed help from The Junkluggers to clear out 50+ years of items in and around her father's house. We worked closely with our client to ensure we met all of the timelines given over a 4 month removal period.
We were able to donate a large portion of the items to Patriots and Paws including furniture, dishes, clothing and household items. What we did not expect to find in our cleaning process was an antique CAR buried in 50 years worth of 'junk' in part of the garage. We've found many interesting items in the course of thousands of junk removal jobs, but this was our first car!
Our Junkluggers crew was called to a home in Villa Park to assist with home and garage cleanout. The home owner was moving into assisted living and his children were helping their father prepare for the upcoming move.
What started out as a basic estate cleanout ended in a big surprise after we found an old antique car buried underneath years of garage clutter. A car that no one even knew was there!
Once the car was found and the owner agreed to part with it, we contacted one of our donation partners who was happy to take the car off our hands. That is, if we could transport it. Since it didn't run, we had to lift the car into our truck. With several luggers and some strategic maneuvering, we were able to get the car into the truck bed.
The car was then transported to our partner who planned to restore it for donation or resale.
